How do I get a hero with cavalry general skill? Is it from fighting in battles and leveling, fighting alongside cavalry, training cavalry, quest reward? Are they "born" with it or not? I know they're rarer than the infantry generals and siege masters, just not sure how much rarer or how to get one?

Hmmm... Actually I'm not sure there is such skill at the moment, maybe Baruk can clarify... There is Infantry general and it is given at birth at the moment.. Eventually if you manage to  get many heroes with such skill and save them until late game, it cam give you a huge boost in production. Besides the units produces come with a little experience - this is especially noticable on spearmen, because rookies can break there spears in battle against shields and become almost defenceless...

Well I see it listed in the skills section of help but haven't ever actually seen it on any of my generals. I'd expect it to be rare since cavalry are such a valuable unit, but would love to have a specialized general making more and better cavalry.

Also since we're on the subjects of cavalry and generals, can cavalry be upgraded in armor like infantry? If I make and use cavalry in the light leather can I upgrade them with more experience? And for generals, do their training bonuses stack with each other, or is it "trained with general" or "trained without", and 2 isn't better than 1?

Good questions. Cavalry general is a rare beast [smile] This skill is given randomly to knights (barons). Training bonuses of two cavalry generals don't stack. And yes, light cavalry can be upgraded to heavy after receiving some experience.

Ok so one more reason to keep barons in defense then.

Got a cavalry general in 2 different games, noticed that in one game setting training to heavy cavalry would produce 2, while the other was giving me 1 per turn. Not sure why, both castles had cavalry general baron, both had at least 2 horses in stable, neither one was under 20 population or in poor wealth.

Ok nevermind, in one of the games I was stupidly making cavalry to escort a food wagon.
